Why choose Nuffield Health, The Manor Hospital in Oxford?

Nuffield Health, The Manor Hospital in Oxford is a private hospital with a large team of consultants and specialised children’s nurses that can see children of any age, for a variety of conditions.

  • Children are referred to us from all over the country
  • We accept insurance or self-funding patients
  • Children up to 16 years can be seen in our outpatient’s department
  • Children between 3-16 years can be treated as in-patients
  • If your child needs to stay overnight, the Children & Young Person (CYP) dedicated team is present
  • The CYP is there to offer the reassurance you will need to know your child is in the best possible hands.

It can be a worrying time when your child isn’t well. We understand that sometimes you don’t want to wait for a diagnosis or perhaps you just want a second opinion. At The Manor, we are here to help.

That's why we do everything we can to make your child's stay as stress-free as possible, including working with some of the most experienced paediatricians, leaving you to concentrate on the most important thing for your child - helping them get better.

All our rooms are en-suite, we serve a special children’s menu. We have a children’s play area and facilities for a parent to stay overnight. Our consultants all work at the neighbouring Oxford Children’s Hospital based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, part of Oxford University Hospitals (OUH).

Keeping you informed

Before your child comes to us, we send you a special patient information pack, so you have all the information you need to help you and your child prepare.

We pride ourselves on offering each child a detailed pre admission assessment which can be face to face or over the phone. At this time parents and the child are welcome to visit the ward and ask any questions they may have.

Visiting and staying with your child

We have an open visitor policy, so your child can enjoy the comfort and support of having friends and family visit anytime. We also provide facilities for parents to stay, friendly nurses, private rooms with en-suite shower rooms in most locations.

Food & drink

We know some children can be particular about their food, so we offer a special children's food and drink menu to make sure they have food they're used to at home.

A wide range of children's services

The Nuffield Manor Hospital provides comprehensive, expert care for children and young people and our services include both inpatient and outpatient services, plus a wide range of consultant clinics and surgical care. For your peace of mind, our teams are also trained in emergency care.

The Manor hospital treats children from aged 3 - 16 years and a few even younger. Both before and after the procedure you will be given a specially designed children's information pack. After your child goes home a member of the CYP team will contact you to offer support and answer any questions you may have.

The hospital also has family General Practitioner on site every day between 09:00 - 12:00.
