About
Kunmi Fasanmade qualified as a doctor in 2002 at Guys, Kings and St Thomas' Hospitals. He undertook his 5 year specialist surgical training on the South West Deanery where he built up an extensive surgical portfolio in head and neck surgery. Kunmi became an oral and maxillofacial consultant at the Oxford University Hospitals Trust in 2010, with special interest in head and neck cancer.
Kunmi has also held the post of clinical lead in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Buckinghamshire Hospital, a post which he held for 2.5 years, charting the course for the Department through the crisis of the COVID19.
His NHS work in head and neck surgery incudes management of benign and dysplastic mouth lesions, facial trauma, salivary gland surgery. Kunmi is listed as a Specialist in Oral Surgery by the General Dental Council and does all aspects of oral surgery, including third molar (wisdom teeth) surgery. Kunmi offers laser therapy as a treatment option.

Other interests
Kunmi Fasanmade has served as the Oxford University Hospitals Oral and Maxillofacial surgery representative to the Oxfordshire Local Dental Council (LDC). He has a passion for training, and occupied the post of Training Program Director for Health Education in Oral and Maxillofacial in the region of the Thames Valley and Oxford Deanery. He is currently on secondment as Clinical Lead to the OMFS Department in Buckinghamshire.
Personal interests
Kunmi enjoys golf, and has a keen appreciation of fine art, having created some works of his own. Much of his spare time is taken up with sporting commitments of his children, an immense source of enjoyment for him.

Mr Fasanmade has published papers on a wide range of topics and has presented at scientific and clinical meetings, nationally and internationally. In his NHS capacity, he held the post of Directorate Audit Lead for a number of years. He recruits to head and neck clinical trials hence keeping him involved actively in research.
