About

Vish Kumar was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon at Wye Valley NHS Trust in 2021. Prior to this, he held fixed-term Consultant posts at Cambridge University Hospitals and Buckinghamshire NHS Trust since Aug 2017. His clinical practice covers all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.

He has a keen interest in medical education and surgical training. He is on the faculty for Cambridge FRCS Orth Basic Science Revision Course. He is GMC- recognised and named Clinical Supervisor (nCS) for Higher Orthopaedic Surgical Training. He is an acknowledged reviewer for The Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ). He has published and contributed to several publications indexed on PubMed as a first author. He has undertaken research in the field of orthopaedics in the UK & Australia.

He is a certified Trust Appraiser of Consultants & Doctors for Revalidation at Wye Valley NHS Trust. He is GIRFT Lead for Outpatient Transformation. He sits on the Local Negotiating Committee (LNCs) of the British Medical Association (BMA). He has a proven track record of participation in National Audits and Quality Improvement (QI) projects including NHS England-commissioned external audits.
