Mr Martin Davison

Mr Davison is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery and knee arthroscopy. After graduating from the University of Glasgow Medical School with distinction, he completed his orthopaedic surgical training in the West of Scotland and expanded his skill set and expertise by undertaking the prestigious ‘Advanced Hip Fellowship’ in Bristol. In addition to his main medical degree, he also undertook a BSc MedSci in Musculoskeletal Science at the University of Glasgow. 

He is the hip fracture lead in NHS Lanarkshire, with a dedication to the care of this vulnerable patient group. He has a passion for holistic care of all patients, with importance on every phase of the patient journey from initial review, diagnosis, counselling with joint decision making, surgery and recovery. He undertakes primary, complex and revision hip replacement. His skill set includes computer navigated total knee replacements, allowing surgical precision, and knee arthroscopy.  

He has been on the editorial board of Hip International for the last two years, assessing research from around the globe and deciding on its suitability for publication. As an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, he remains actively involved in medical education and continues in the role of an examiner as well as delivering teaching sessions.  He is a tutor on various courses at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.
