About
James is a Consultant Gynaecologist offering general gynaecological services, advice and treatment for chronic pelvic pain and menstrual dysfunction. His main areas of interest are advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) and minimal access surgery for the diagnosis and subsequent management of all stages of endometriosis, the removal of fibroids and cysts and total laparoscopic hysterectomies. He adopts a holistic and patient-centred approach providing a diverse range of evidence-based treatment options including conservative, medical and surgical management.
He specialises in advanced laparoscopic surgery and is a trained robotic surgeon. He also offers outpatient hysteroscopy clinics and has expertise in the management of menstrual dysfunction. He also offers comprehensive management plans of pre-menopausal and post-menopausal symptoms and will support you to navigate the vast range of hormone replacement therapies including testosterone replacement and medications that may not be available in local hospitals. He also has experience in the gynaecological issues of transgender men and has supported with the surgical transition and follow-up.
James is the regional Yorkshire and Humber laparoscopic simulation lead and has been a member of the task and finish group for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the national training programme
