About
Jennifer qualified in 2003 from the University of Glasgow, receiving extensive post-graduate surgical training in General and Laparoscopic, (keyhole) Benign Biliary and UGI surgery in Scotland’s leading hospitals, (Edinburgh and Glasgow). Following completion of her surgical training, Jennifer completed a Royal College of Surgeons of England approved Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at University College London Hospital and NHS Northumbria.
Jennifer has worked as a Consultant Bariatric Surgeon with Phoenix Health since 2017, receiving direct mentorship from Professor David Kerrigan, past president of BOMSS, (British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society) and Mr Shafiq Javed. She has performed a variety of NHS and Private, Primary and Revisional Bariatric Surgeries in the North-West of England. She has led clinically at Phoenix Irish Health and contributed to Phoenix Health’s National Intragastric Balloon Service. Jennifer has enjoyed training and mentoring the next generation of surgeons at Phoenix Health.
Jennifer has held substantive NHS General Surgical, UGI & Bariatric Consultant Surgeon posts in both Scotland and England, (University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust) where she has furthered her practice in General, Benign UGI & Biliary Surgery. She supports the Remote & Rural Surgery Services in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
