About
Dr Bhavsar has over 20 years of experience in Paediatrics. He completed his specialist training in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, one of the largest centres in the country for paediatric gastroenterology and paediatric liver & small bowel transplantation.
He has extensive experience in managing gastrointestinal conditions in children including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, intractable constipation, dietary intolerances including cow's milk protein intolerance, recurrent abdominal pains, Coeliac disease and growth faltering. He has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of Paediatric inflammatory bowel disease.
He has presented in national and international meetings and has several publications to his credit.
In his NHS post, he provides tertiary gastroenterology service as a part of a multidisciplinary team within the East Midlands region, including procedures such as pH/Impedance study, breath tests, endoscopy and Ileo-colonoscopy. He is interested in medical education and training. He has been working as a Training Programme Director for School of Paediatrics in East Midlands and is also an RCPCH National Grid co-ordinator for Paediatric Gastroenterology training at Leicester.
