Dr Elena Monica Salagean

Dr Salagean is an Allergy Consultant at Royal Surrey County Hospital, working also at Frimley Park Hospital and Aldershot Centre for Health. She has experience in dealing with a wide range of allergic conditions including pollen allergy  such as hay fever, skin allergy such as urticaria and eczema, food allergy and intolerances, drug allergy, insect venom allergy such as bee and wasp allergy, anaphylaxis, angioedema, latex allergy and asthma. She assesses everyone individually and treat them in a holistic way as she knows allergy is a disease of the whole body not only located to a certain organ.

Dr Salagean's evaluation is based on taking careful history, examination, allergy skin prick tests, blood tests and if necessary challenge tests. When prescribing treatment, Dr Salagean carefully explains different types of diets that apply to each patient, the correct use and conditions of epipen and re evaluates the patient to ensure that any diet or therapeutic intervention helped to improve the condition.

Dr Salagean qualified as a doctor in Romania and completed her training as a specialist in Internal Medicine with subspecialty in allergy. She subsequently came to UK where she redid her allergy training at Southampton General Hospital as a specialist registrar gaining her specialist training accreditation in 2014.

Dr Salagean carries out allergy testing, skin prick testing as well as offering dietary advice with foods suspected as allergens, desensitisation here at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital.  She also offers itching management advice here at the hospital.
