About
Dr Brull is a Consultant Cardiologist who qualified at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in 1992. He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist to The Whittington Hospital and UCLH in October 2003 and since 2015 he has also been working at the Bart’s Heart Centre, the UK’s largest Cardiothoracic centre.
Following his appointment, he played an integral setting up the Heart Attack Service initially based at UCLH providing round the clock treatment for heart attack patients throughout London.
Dr Brull has broad experience in treating patients with all common cardiac conditions: angina, hypertension, heart failure, referrals for investigation of palpitations and collapse, cardiovascular risk assessment, perioperative cardiac assessment, and treatment of elevated cholesterol levels.
In addition to his work in the field of coronary artery disease, Dr Brull has established a perioperative risk assessment clinic for patients prior to elective surgery, utilising cardiopulmonary exercise testing to reduce perioperative risk.
Special interests
Dr Brull’s main interest is in percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty and stenting) the procedure designed to alleviate angina (chest pain caused by poor blood flow to the heart), whereby a small balloon and expandable stent ("scaffolding") is inserted across blockages in the coronary arteries to restore blood flow.
