Dr Danish Mazhar was a medical undergraduate at the University of Oxford and completed his clinical training in London, undertaking specialist training in medical oncology at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals in London. He received his PhD on prostate cancer from Imperial College London, as well as the McElwain Prize from the Association of Cancer Physicians and the Medical Research Society Young Researchers Prize in Oncology.
Dr Mazhar was appointed to his current post as a consultant in Medical Oncology in January 2007, and his clinical research interests are in urological cancers. He is Principal Investigator of numerous clinical trials in prostate, bladder and testicular cancers. He is a member of the National Cancer Research Network Testis Cancer Clinical Studies Group and is a former Chair of its Quality of Life Subgroup. He is currently a member of the Association of Cancer Physicians Executive Committee. Dr Mazhar also has an interest in Postgraduate Medical Education and has previously served as the Regional Training Programme Director for Medical Oncology.
