About
Dr Biju Simon qualified in India and completed post-graduate Higher Specialist training in General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics from LNR Workforce Deanery England.
Dr Simon was appointed as a Consultant Physician at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) in 2011. He is proficient in unselected medical conditions, Internal Medicine, undifferentiated medical illness, and Ortho-geriatrics.
Dr Simon has a keen interest in undifferentiated medical diagnosis, perioperative care, particularly for orthopaedic procedures, medical optimisation for surgery, rapidly worsening medical disorders, geriatric medical syndromes, and comprehensive medical evaluations.
Currently, Dr Simon is head of the service of the newly established Internal Medicine department of UHL, one of the unique and largest bed base departments. Dr Simon is the postgraduate Training Programme Director of NHS England Workforce Training and Education of East Midlands overseeing Internal Medicine Stage 2 training of about 300 higher specialist trainees. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer of Medical Education at Leicester Medical School.
Dr Simon is an inquisitive Internist and
passionate medical educator. He is an ardent campaigner for nurturing compassionate
and caring medical teams. He enjoys watching cricket and exploring world
cuisine at his leisure.
