Mr Kattan is a benign gynaecology consultant with specialist accredited expertise in urogynaecology. He is a full-time NHS Consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer post at the University of Leeds since 2018.
Mr Kattan has qualified from Damascus University in 2003. He has received structural training in obstetrics and gynaecology for seven years in the Yorkshire region. Mr Kattan then underwent accredited advanced training in urogynaecology working in a tertiary centre at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He also completed an accredited advanced training in benign gynaecology which covered open and laparoscopic surgeries and hysteroscopic procedures.
Mr Kattan is an expert in vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries such as laparoscopic colposuspension and total laparoscopic hysterectomies. He has specialist knowledge and skills in managing refractory over active bladder cases.
Mr Kattan has considerable experience in the medical and surgical management of various gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometrial polyps, pelvic adhesions, menstrual disorders including heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods and pelvic pain.
