Dr Alex Langford

Dr Langford qualified from Southampton Medical School in 2009. He completed his postgraduate psychiatric training in London and Oxford and has been a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry since 2018. He also holds a first-class degree in Psychology and achieved postgraduate qualifications as a physician.

He worked for the NHS in inpatient psychiatric wards until 2022, when he moved to independent practice.

He has a broad range of psychiatric interests, with a particular special interest in occupational psychiatry (the interface between work and mental health). He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Special Interest Group in Occupational Psychiatry.

Dr Langford is a warm and collaborative clinician who is keen to make the patient feel listened to and involved in their treatment. He enjoys tailoring evidence-based medication plans to individuals, while realising that good treatment is about more than just medication.

When not working, Dr Langford enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing chess and following the cricket.
