About

I am a Consultant Cardiologist based in Oxford, with over 20 years of experience helping people improve and protect their heart health. I graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 1991 and have trained and worked in leading cardiology centres in London, Cambridge, and Toronto, Canada.

I specialise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of heart conditions, including angina, heart valve disease, heart failure, and irregular heart rhythms. I understand that symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts, and breathlessness can be worrying, and I aim to provide clear, thorough assessment and reassurance every step of the way.

A key part of my work focuses on treating coronary artery disease. I have extensive experience in coronary angioplasty and stenting, including complex procedures. I am also proud to be part of the Oxford team delivering TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation), a minimally invasive treatment for aortic valve disease.

I believe strongly in prevention as well as treatment. I work closely with my patients to identify and manage risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes, helping to reduce the risk of future heart problems.

My approach is patient-centred: I take the time to listen, explain your condition in clear, straightforward language, and involve you in decisions about your care so you feel confident and informed throughout your treatment.
