About
Dr Peter Blackburn is a consultant clinical psychologist working in the NHS. He has experience of working in physical healthcare (inc. cancer, palliative care, chronic pain, chronic fatigue) and mental health (inc. common mental health problems). He has training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive analytical therapy (CAT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT).
Psychological assessment, formulation and treatment that includes the following difficulties for individuals/couples aged 18 years and over: adjustment (eg coming to terms with physical health problems, bereavement and divorce), anger and frustration difficulties, anxiety (eg fear of recurrence, panic, OCD), depression and low mood, eating and weight difficulties, pain and fatigue management, post traumatic stress, relational difficulties, work place related stress, worry.
