About
Mr Jaunoo is a Consultant General, Upper GI and Laparoscopic Surgeon.
Mr Jaunoo qualified in medicine from St. Bartholomew's & The Royal London School of Medicine. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a year completing laboratory-based research in pancreatic cancer. He carried out his postgraduate surgical training in the West Midlands, including time spent working in liver transplantation, organ retrieval, hepatobiliary surgery, bariatric surgery and oesophagogastric cancer surgery.
He was awarded a Master of Surgery with distinction by the University of Edinburgh for his postgraduate research and spent two years as Senior Clinical Fellow in oesophagogastric surgery at Oxford University Hospitals before being appointed as a Consultant.
Mr Jaunoo founded the Warwickshire Surgical Research Group, the Brighton & Sussex Research Collaborative and the South East Surgical Research Collaborative, has published several book chapters and has multiple peer-reviewed publications. He has a passion for research and medical education and has taught and examined medical students at the Universities of Brighton, Warwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Oxford. He was twice nominated for ‘surgical tutor of the year’ at Oxford University Medical School. He is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
