We understand this is a concerning time for everyone, especially people at greater risk. Our purpose is to build a healthier nation and we are working to support patients in England, Wales and Scotland by:

  • Making all 31 of our hospitals across England, Wales and Scotland available to NHS trusts and health authorities to support patients with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, cancer and other urgent health conditions
  • Making our workforce across our network of fitness and wellbeing clubs and clinics available to support NHS trusts and health authorities
  • Offering nursery facilities for children of NHS and other key workers
  • Supporting people of all ages to keep active and fit at home

Your appointment at our hospitals and clinical services

We are open for new referrals and are offering remote consultations to our patients. We are working with the NHS to determine the most clinically appropriate diagnostic tests or procedures to carry out at this time and will only be offering face-to-face appointments for patients meeting these criteria.

We will be providing a free GP telephone service to our patients and client employees to support them with their health needs while their health assessment is rescheduled.

Our award-winning hospitals have a leading, proven track record on infection prevention which includes the cleanliness of our hospitals, spotlessly clean patient rooms and leading diagnostic facilities. Our teams of dedicated and experienced nurses support this and are committed to providing excellent care for patients. All our hospitals have strict infection control and prevention protocols in place to protect healthcare workers, patients and visitors and to minimise the risk of any infection, including coronavirus.

Our Fitness and Wellbeing Clubs

In line with guidance from both the government and Public Health England, our fitness and wellbeing clubs are now closed.

Your membership fees will be frozen and we won’t be collecting your direct debit until we can re-open. Please check your email for regular updates regarding re-opening and alternative ways to stay fit, healthy and active during this time. Please bear with us, we know you will have a lot of questions and we will keep you regularly updated as soon as we can.

Our Nurseries

We’re pleased to confirm that following the latest Government advice, we will look to begin to reopen our Nuffy Bear Day Nurseries for all families from 1st June.

Latest health advice

As the UK’s largest healthcare charity, it's our duty of care to ensure that we take every precaution to keep our patients, members and employees safe during this time.

Following the new advice published on 18th May from Public Health England and Health Protection Scotland, please be advised that you should not enter any of our sites if you have the following symptoms:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a fever or high temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher)
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).

The guidance advises you to stay at home (self-isolate), regardless of travel history or contact with confirmed cases, if you have the above symptoms. Public Health England government guidance can be found here. Health Protection Scotland government guidance can be found here.
