About
Professor Harris worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from August 2001 until December 2016. His areas of interest are foot & ankle surgery, knee surgery, general lower limb surgery as well as trauma. He was Clinical Lead for Trauma at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from 2014-2016.
Currently, he works privately at the Nuffield Hospital, Leeds undertaking foot and ankle surgery, knee surgery, sports injury surgery and trauma surgery.
He is subspecialty trained in Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a member of BOFAS.
Professor Harris also has an interest in knee surgery and was awarded the Aesculap Travelling Fellowship to visit Dr DuPlessis in South Africa. Dr DuPlessis is an internationally reknowned knee surgeon and looks after the Springboks Rugby Team. He was awarded the BOTA Trainee of the Year Prize for research into pain relief following ACL reconstruction. He is a member of BASK. Approximately 80% of Professor Harris's practice is Foot and Ankle.

Mr Harris has produced over 100 original publications and presentations and is the author of a best selling textbook on Orthopaedic Examination.
Mr Harris a member of the Zimmer-Biomet Total Ankle Replacement Faculty. He is the Orthopaedic Lead Designer of the Mobile Bearing Rebalance Total Ankle Replacement. He acts as a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal. He has been a convenor of the Foot and Ankle Masterclass run in conjunction with the Royal College of Surgeons.He is on the UK and Global Ankle Arthroscopy Faculty with Smith and Nephew.

He is currently involved research into bone density changes in professional cyclists and dancers and also long term outcome of achilles tendon repair.
