About
Dr Kadambande began her career in medicine in 1987 in Mumbai, India. Dr Kadambande was awarded the gold medal in her Diploma Anaesthesia exams and has been an academic achiever throughout her career. Following her position as an anaesthetist at the renowned Tata Memorial Cancer Institute and as a lecturer in the teaching Grant medical college, she commenced her specialist training in UK.
Dr Kadambande was one of the first trainees from Wales to be awarded the FFPMRCA from the Faculty of Pain Medicine. As a fellow of the Royal college of Anaesthetists and a member of the Faculty of Pain medicine and British Pain society, she also features on the specialist register of the GMC.
Since 2010, she has been engaged as a consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the teaching University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and is used to dealing with complex chronic pain conditions.
Dr Kadambande is competent in treating a wide range of chronic pain conditions .Dr Kadambande is a firm believer in a patient centred holistic approach to Pain management. She understands that chronic pain affects not just an individual but the family, work environment and their social lives.
To this effect she offers medication management, and several x-ray and ultrasound guided injections in the spine, around nerves, muscle and joints. Dr Kadambande has a special interest in Facial pain, Headcahes and has achieved success with Acupuncture and neuromodulation.
Dr Kadambande has a keen interest in Neuropathic pain, Complex regional pain syndrome and Post- surgical pain, back pain and Neuralgias and She offers innovative treatments including Qutenza patch application and Neuromodulation. Dr Kadambande has eased the suffering of many arthritis affected patients with Radiofrequency denervation.
Dr Kadambande is actively involved in medical education and simulation and is the current pain medicine educational supervisor in South Wales. She currently leads the Qutenza clinic, first one of its kind set up in south Wales for treating shingles pain, scar pain, post knee replacement pain, nerve pain.
She is a keen educator and has been involved in GP education for pain management and also done an ITV wales news feature in August 2016.
