About
Dr Tran is a Consultant Rheumatologist and undertakes his NHS practice at Harrogate Hospital. He qualified from the University of Leeds in 2009, where he was awarded a number of prizes including the McLeod Award in Microbiology. He has a decade of experience in the management of arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis), gout, polymyalgia rheumatic and soft tissue/musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr Tran was awarded the prestigious National Institute of Health Research PhD Fellowship and completed his PhD in 2019. During this time, he also obtained the internationally recognised European League Against Rheumatism Advanced Ultrasound qualification. He routinely uses ultrasound scans to detect arthritis. Dr Tran is also an expert in soft tissue and joint injections and is regularly involved in teaching on this.
He has a particular interest in sporting and musculoskeletal injuries and has completed a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has been the sports doctor for several amateur and professional clubs, including Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos Academy.
