Mr Amit Patel



Mr Amit Patel is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist. 

Mr Patel commenced his medical career in 1992.

After he qualified as a doctor (MBBS) in 1998, he gained higher academic degree (MD) in 2001. He completed his specialist training approved by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2008 gaining several advanced qualifications in laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, vulval disease and hysteroscopy. He achieved higher sub-specialty training in Gynaecological Cancers in 2013.

Mr Patel also holds several research and academic accomplishments. In 2012, he was awarded Masters degree in Clinical Research with distinction. In the same year he also won the Edgar Gentilli Prize awarded by Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) for the best research in gynaecological cancer. He has published several research papers in acclaimed medical journals.

Mr Patel gained MD (Doctor of Medicine degree) in 2001. More recently in 2012 he was awarded a Masters degree with distinction in Clinical Research from Newcastle University and also won the Edgar Gentilli prize from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) for the best research in Gynaecological Oncology.

He has keen interest and experience in medical statistics. His main research interests are as below.

1. Clinical performance and patient safety. 

2. Cancer epidemiology, incidence and outcomes. 
3. Diagnostic test accuracy studies.
