Dr Bella Smith qualified in 2002 from Nottingham University with a Medical Degree and a First class Biomedical Sciences Degree. In 2003 she moved to London to work in Chelsea and Westminster A&E for six months.
Following a three year medical rotation at Barts and The Royal London in East London Dr Smith passed her MRCP exams to become a Member of the Royal College of Physicians. She then completed a psychiatry job at St Georges, West London and following her registrar year in Surrey qualified as a GP in 2008 with a Merit in her Member of the Royal College of GP exams.
She has worked as a GP in South London for four years before moving to Suffolk in 2013 and becoming a GP in Woodbridge. She gained experience in sclerotherapy under the guidance of a vascular surgeon at the Parkside Hospital Wimbledon in 2011, working in both Wimbledon and Jersey, before training in other cosmetic procedures in 2012. Dr Smith worked for Cosmedics in London for five years performing non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Dr Bella Smith has set up www.thedigitalgp.com to provide accurate relevant medical information that is accessible online and easy to understand. This has led to her becoming a GP adviser to the Eve Appeal, a gynaecological cancer charity, a guest appearance on Radio 4 Women's Hour, and regular appearances on BBC Radio Suffolk commenting on medical matters.
Dr Smith's practice provides injection treatment for facial wrinkles and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and treatment of facial and leg thread veins.
