How do I get an appointment to see a consultant?You can either call the medical secretary direct to make an appointment with your chosen consultant, or most of our consultants also have appointments that you can book instantly online. Alternatively, you can call our Customer Services team on 01202 155071 who will be able to talk you through your available options, answer any questions you may have and assist you to get booked in. For certain specialities, a referral may be required from a suitable healthcare professional and you will be advised of this when you enquire.

How long would it take me to get an appointment?We endeavour to ensure all private patients will be seen within a few days and at a time that is convenient for you. Our appointments are designed to be flexible around your needs and activities.

Can I choose which consultant I wish to see?Yes, as a private patient you can choose your consultant. You can find relevant information on all of our consultants on their individual biography page, including any specialities and treatments offered. If you are unsure whether a consultant will be able to assist with your specific concern, please contact our customer services team on 01202 155071 who will be able to advise further.

Do you offer treatment for children?Yes, we have a dedicated Children and Young Person’s team that support any young people accessing our services. Children can be seen for consultation in certain specialities and diagnostics from 6 weeks old and we can offer selected surgical options from 3 years old.

Would my surgery be conducted by a junior doctor?No, our hospital only works with consultants and therefore you can be assured of the highest level of clinical care. Your appointments, surgery and follow ups will be conducted by your consultant.

What are your hospital infection rates?Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital is vigorous in its cleaning standards and keeping our hospitals clean and free of MRSA and C.difficule is a top priority. As a result, the risk of infection to patients is very low.

When can my family visit if I’m an inpatient?We offer open visiting for inpatients, though we do recommend that family check prior to arriving that the patient is fit and ready for visitors. Your recovery is of paramount importance and you may find that you are very tired following surgery.

Is there parking available?Yes, we have free, onsite parking available, including a number of disabled bays close to the main entrance.

Is there accommodation nearby where my family can stay?We are very close to the main train station and the town centre so there are many accommodation options nearby.

I am disabled/require assistance during my visit, who do I need to tell?Please let our staff know your requirements when you contact us. We are happy to make suitable arrangements before your visit. If you’d like to bring a friend or family member, please feel free to do so.
