Heart Health Clinic
Looking after your heart has never been more important.
Our Heart Health Clinic provides a comprehensive assessment for people who want reassurance about their heart health, understand their future cardiovascular risk, or investigate symptoms that may be causing concern.
Whether you have a family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or simply want a specialist review, our consultant-led service offers a structured pathway designed to identify problems early and help you make informed decisions about your long-term health.
Why choose a heart health assessment?
Many heart conditions develop gradually and may not cause symptoms in their early stages. Our comprehensive assessment helps to:
- Detect potential heart problems early
- Understand your individual cardiovascular risk
- Identify risk factors such as high cholesterol and diabetes
- Receive expert advice from a Consultant Cardiologist
- Gain reassurance and peace of mind
- Develop a personalised plan to protect your long-term heart health
What does the assessment include?
Comprehensive diagnostic testing
Your first visit includes a series of non-invasive investigations designed to build a complete picture of your cardiovascular health, including:
- Cholesterol levels
- Diabetes assessment and control
- Kidney function
- Heart rhythm abnormalities
- Previous heart damage
- Electrical conduction issues
Blood Tests
We assess key markers linked to heart health, including:
ECG (Electrocardiogram)
An ECG records the electrical activity of your heart and can help identify:
Echocardiogram (Heart Ultrasound)
This non-invasive scan assesses:
- Heart structure and function
- Heart valve health
- Pumping efficiency
- Structural abnormalities
Once your investigations are complete, the results will be reviewed by your Consultant Cardiologist and discussed with you during a dedicated follow-up consultation.
Consultant-led review
Your consultant will carefully review all of your results and discuss:
- Your cardiovascular risk profile
- Family history and lifestyle factors
- Any abnormalities identified
- Recommendations for further investigations, if required
- Personalised lifestyle and treatment advice
Advanced cardiac imaging
For some patients, additional imaging may be recommended to provide further insight into heart health.
CT Coronary calcium score
This specialised scan measures calcium build-up within the coronary arteries and can help identify early signs of coronary artery disease.
CT coronary angiogram
Where appropriate, a CT coronary angiogram provides detailed images of the coronary arteries, helping to identify narrowing or blockages and guide future treatment decisions.
