Colorectal screening is available to asymptomatic patients with a family history of bowel cancer.
A consultant may carry out a full examination of part of the sigmoid colon using a flexible sigmoidoscope.
A laboratory test will also be carried out enabling the consultant to identify if there are any early signs of bowel cancer.
