Clinical Pilates in Farnham - How can it help you?

The Pilates Method is a combined mind-body technique that focuses on strength and control of the muscles around the spine and pelvis, whilst improving postual awareness through controlled movement patterns. This is achieved through a progressive series of special exercises which increase in intensity as you improve.

Pilates is often referred to as ‘thinking exercise’, as it requires concentration, precision and control. Rather than focussing on the large stronger muscles (the ones normally used for sport/ gym work), this technique emphasises on engaging the deep postural muscles in the lower back, abdomen, neck and shoulder area, which helps support your body in day-to-day activities and movement.

By learning and producing movement that has quality and control, Clinical Pilates can start to help address pain, weakness and posture in a controlled and supportive environment.
