About
Mr Neil Buxton is an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon with more than three decades of clinical practice in spinal and general neurosurgery.
He provides specialist consultations and treatments at Nuffield Health The Grosvenor Hospital, Chester, offering expert care for patients with complex spinal and neurological conditions.
Mr Buxton has particular expertise in congenital spinal anomalies, hydrocephalus, selective dorsal rhizotomy, and baclofen pump management, alongside a broad practice in adult and paediatric spinal surgery.
Education and experience
He qualified from Leeds Medical School in 1989, completed SHO training in Stoke‑on‑Trent, and undertook Neurosurgical Registrar training in Nottingham.
Since 2001, he has held senior consultant posts at Liverpool Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and The Walton Centre, two of the UK’s leading neurosurgical centres.
His extensive background enables him to manage both routine and highly complex neurosurgical cases across all age groups.
