Profile

Mr. Romics specialised in breast cancer treatment at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgical Unit of the Royal Infirmary and the Breast Unit of the Western Infirmary in Glasgow after he undertook a prestigious subspecialist fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.

Prior to the commencement of his permanent consultant post at the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow in 2007, Mr. Romics also trained at the Cork University Hospital, Cork, Ireland, following his training at the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He was conferred a Ph.D. degree in 2005 based on postgraduate research he did at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester, USA between 2001 and 2003.

Mr. Romics has published widely on various aspects of Breast Cancer Surgical treatment, focusing mainly on providing evidence for the safety of treating breast cancer with oncoplastic breast surgery. He is an editorial board member of numerous professional journals, regular presenter of national and international scientific conferences.

He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Glasgow and Honorary Clinical Tutor of the University of Edinburgh. Mr Romics is the lead of the Educational Committee and member of the advisory board of the West of Scotland Managed Cancer Network.
