This is primarily used for sports performance testing at MIHP, specifically biomechanics, but it can also be used as an elite training environment. It features a 3G artificial turf pitch and 58m running track, it’s ideal for carrying out field-based athletic performance testing (e.g. yo-yo tests), or simply as an indoor training space.

Within the performance capture hall is a Qualisys 3D motion capture system, with AMTI (Advanced Mechanical Technology) force plates integrated into both the pitch and track surfaces. This system can be used to perform a wide range of biomechanical assessments on either surface, and is a world-leading facility in this field. All gait analysis, lower limb assessments, and golf swing assessments at MIHP are carried out in this space.
