What happens during removal of vulval lesions?

The length and complexity of your operation will depend on the location and size of your lesion. Vulval lesion removal usually takes about 20 minutes . It may be performed under general or local anaesthetic. Your consultant will remove all or part of the lesion. If a wound is created it will be closed using stitches. You may need to wear a sanitary pad for a several days.
