FAQs

  • What should I bring and wear to Reformer Pilates?
Make sure you bring a towel and water to keep hydrated. More fitted clothes are recommended so as looser clothing doesn't fall over your face when executing movements. Grip socks are mandatory for every class to ensure hygiene and safety in your workout.
  • Are Nuffield Health’s Reformer Pilates classes suitable for beginners?
Yes, our introduction and foundation are great for starting your Reformer journey with both giving you a great base knowledge of Reformer. However, if you have never been to a reformer class before, we’d recommend trying an introduction class first to learn the basics of how to use the carriage and springs.
  • What is the difference between Reformer Pilates and mat Pilates?
Similar to traditional mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates is an exercise practice based on controlled body-weight movements that strengthen and stabilise the whole body. However, with Reformer, the movements are performed on a sliding carriage with attached springs with adjustable tension so you can increase or decrease the difficulty of the movement yourself.
  • Can I do Reformer Pilates whilst pregnant?

Always always consult with your doctors before doing Reformer Pilates, and speak to your instructor at the beginning of class to let them know you're pregnant.
