Offering our support to the NHS and caring for patients
We understand this is a concerning time for everyone, especially people at greater risk. Our purpose is to build a healthier nation and we are working with NHS England to support NHS Trusts across England and their patients by:
- Making our 30 hospitals across England available to NHS trusts to support patients with the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, cancer and other urgent health conditions
- Potentially moving our workforce across our network of fitness and wellbeing clubs and clinics to support NHS trusts
- Offering nursery facilities for children of NHS and other key workers
- Supporting parents and young people to keep active and fit at home

I have an appointment booked soon with a Nuffield Health hospital, what happens now?
Because we are supporting the NHS at this challenging time, we are reviewing all planned procedures and consultations over the coming months. We will be in contact with any patients where the Consultant feels it is necessary to reschedule your appointment to a later date.
Are their financial incentives for Nuffield Health to support the NHS? Is Nuffield Health being paid by the NHS?
The Charity will be reimbursed at cost meaning no profit will be made and it will be audited by external auditors. This is an unprecedented time, as the UK’s largest healthcare charity we have a huge role to play in supporting the NHS patients in our local communities across the nation.
If I have paid for my surgery or procedure, how long will it take for me to get a refund if I do not wish to wait for it to be rebooked?
If you don’t want to wait for your appointment to be rebooked, we will look to arrange a refund for you within 30 days.
Will my GP appointment, health assessment, physio session, nutrition or emotional wellbeing session be affected?
We are currently not offering these services. We will be contacting all patients with updates further information.
Can Nuffield Health test for coronavirus?
As COVID-19 is a public health issue and requires ongoing monitoring by Public Health England, we are not able to conduct testing for COVID-19 in the independent sector. The only validated test available is via designated Public Health England laboratories and are now only being conducted in the acute NHS setting, with all results being verified by the Public Health England laboratory in Colindale.
