Condition

Lesions

Lesions are abnormal changes in an organ or in tissue due to injury or disease.

There are many types of lesions but they are usually categorised according to whether they are cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign).

Related treatments and procedures

Dermatological surgery

Dermatological surgery includes benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) surgery of the skin.

Excision of skin lesion

Skin lesions are found on or just below the skin. Examples of skin lesions are epidermoid cysts, lipomata (benign tumour of fatty tissue), skin tags and moles.

Eyelid cyst removal

Fluid filled lumps that form in your upper or lower eyelids are quite common. These cysts normally disappear on their own. Occasionally the cyst becomes infected causing pain, redness and swelling.

Paediatric medicine

Paediatric Medicine includes the treatment of children and teenagers.

Skin assessment clinic

Our experienced consultants can visually assess skin lesions and (if necessary) scan them using state-of-the-art scanning equipment to analyse and detect even the smallest changes. The procedure is painless, quick and safe.

Skin grafts for leg ulcers

During this treatment, a small piece of skin is grafted from another area of your body onto a leg ulcer.

Soft tissue lump service

The soft tissue lump service allows rapid and reliable assessment and treatment of soft tissue tumours of the limbs and torso.

Vulval lesion excision

Abnormal growths or ulcers in the opening of your vagina (vulva) are called vulval lesions. A vulval lesion excision is the removal of the lesions.
