We provide a first-class service led by a team of very experienced and well-respected cardiologists and nationally and internationally renowned cardiac surgeons, supported by a team of matron-led nurses and on-site physiotherapists.

Thanks to our highly skilled team and Nuffield Health facilities we can offer all your care from our London Health and Wellbeing Campus – you will receive complete continuity of care and support from your initial enquiry to your rehabilitation.

Cardiology and Cardiac Diagnostics

If you have presented symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, irregular pulse, heart murmur or family history of cardiac disease, your consultant may recommend you have further investigations via a cardiac diagnostic test. We can offer:

• Electrocardiogram (ECG)
• ECG Holter monitor
• Ambulatory blood pressure monitor
• Exercise Tolerance Test
• Echocardiogram
• Stress Echocardiogram
• Coronary angiogram

Cardiac surgery at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital

Our cardiac surgeons offer a number of surgical procedures using both open and minimally invasive approaches. We can support high risk patients and carry out complex operations with our level 3 Critical Care Unit (intensive care) staffed by specialists in cardiac intensive care medicine.

Our consultant cardiologists, supported by our physiology team, provide rapid access to investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of all forms of cardiovascular disease. Our interventional suite (catheter lab) uses cutting-edge imaging, allowing us to offer minimally invasive alternatives to surgical treatment, which can reduce recovery time and shorten hospital stays.

Cardiac rehabilitation pathways at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital

Our cardiac rehabilitation team are here to support you in your recovery from a cardiac event or procedure and help you know how to best look after your heart health for the future. Cardiac rehabilitation is as much part of your treatment as your medicines are, and research shows those who attend a rehabilitation programme have better outcomes.

Our 8-week cardiac rehabilitation programme begins with a comprehensive assessment of your heart health, including a physical assessment and fitness capacity test. We will work with you to identify and prioritise any lifestyle changes you wish to make. You will have complimentary access to the gym facilities at Nuffield Health’s state-of-the-art Barbican Fitness and Wellbeing Centre within our London Health and Wellbeing Campus. Your exercise programme will be bespoke, at the right level for you and designed to help you reach your goals.
