Swimming Lessons at St Albans Fitness & Wellbeing Gym
Our excellent swim school in St Albans welcomes swimmers of all ages and abilities. Our qualified instructors teach small groups to help you learn faster.
Adult swimming classes
Adult Improver Swim
Can you swim but wish to improve your stroke and stamina? Nuffield Health runs weekly evening courses taught by qualified instructors for swimmers of all levels. Our courses are open to members and non-members and can be booked for the half-term and whole term periods.
Children's swimming classes
We offer a range of classes from Parent and Baby (6 months old onwards) to Swim Club level. Our lessons are run during the day for younger children and after school and Sunday morning for older children. Members and non-members are welcome. Term dates are based on Hertfordshire’s school term.
To ensure your child gets the best possible tuition from our expert instructors, class numbers are limited to the following:
- Parent & Baby / Mini Toddler / Toddler - Maximum of 10 pupils in a class
- Starters (Age 3 Years and older) - Maximum of 5 pupils in a class
- Beginner 1* up to Challenge classes - Maximum of 8 pupils in a class
*Our Beginner 1 to Improver 1 level classes have one or two assistants in the water along with the instructor.
We provide towels, a comfortable viewing area and all swimmers are welcome to use our on-site café. Non-members will need to leave a small deposit at reception to borrow a locker key. We ask that all swimmers wear a swimming hat in the pool.
Half-term Intensive Swimming Crash Courses
We are now taking bookings for our Swimming Crash Courses. These 5-day intensive morning courses are available to children during half term. Courses are based on ASA guidelines where everybody will learn new skills. Swimming every day has huge benefits for both beginner and improving swimmers.
