A healthy start for your little ones

We’re a charitable healthcare organisation with a difference. By bringing together our hospitals, clinics, Fitness & Wellbeing gyms and nurseries, we’ve created a complete network of expert health care services.

Passion and care are at the heart of our organisation, and have been for over 50 years. So whether it’s child care, health assessments, personalised fitness programmes, tests or physiotherapy we’ll tailor our services specifically to meet your individual needs.

Why is a Nuffy Bear Day Nursery different?

  • We will teach your child to swim
  • We will give your child a free junior membership to our health club
  • We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and we’ll also educate your child on the benefits of exercise and healthy eating
  • We are competitively priced and accept all childcare vouchers
  • Some of our nurseries will even teach your child French.

Ofsted registered and DBS checked

  • We’re regulated by Ofsted www.ofsted.gov.uk. (See links to individual nursery Ofsted reports below)
  • All our staff are DBS checked and the management team are all qualified to a minimum NVQ level 3

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. There are seven areas and these are split into prime and specific.

Three prime areas:

  1. Personal, social and emotional development
  2. Physical development
  3. Communication and language

Four specific areas:

  1. Literacy
  2. Mathematics
  3. Expressive arts and design
  4. Understanding the world.

As part of an extensive national health club chain we are ideally placed to help teach your child to swim. Once a week during term time, our 3 - 5 year olds can take part in swimming lessons with a qualified swimming instructor. Swimming is not only fantastic fun for children, it is also an excellent form of exercise with the resistance of the water supporting your little ones developing bones and joints.

Physical activity

We understand the importance of exercise to growing children, that’s why our staff will teach your children fun ways to engage with exercise and the importance of physical activity. We use our dance studios for indoor physical activity and our specialised music and movement sessions, and also we offer baby yoga and massage. In addition to this all children in full time nursery care will get a free junior membership to our Fitness & Wellbeing Gym.

Have fun and play

The play that we offer builds on previous learning and takes into account each child’s increasing concentration span and developing skills. We provide a variety of different activities for the children to become involved in and ensure that these are regularly rotated to maintain your child’s interest and enjoyment. We encourage children to play and have fun at all our nurseries, forging friendships with other children and learning as they play.

Menus & children's parties

Our nurseries serve a range of delicious, nutritious meals for children, to ensure that they receive all of the key nutrients and food groups. Menus are changed daily and displayed in the nursery for parents information. We can cater for vegetarian, vegan children and we will also happily accommodate children with specific allergies, medical diets or religious requirements.

We also offer a range of fun and active children’s parties to suit all budgets. Please ask a member of the nursery team for more information if you are interested in staging a children's party with us.

Our nursery staff

All our staff are DBS checked and the management team are all qualified to a minimum NVQ level 3. Our core values at Nuffield Health are 'passionate and caring' - 'enterprising and independent'. All of our dedicated nursery staff embody these characteristics, to ensure a safe, educational and enjoyable environment for your precious little ones.

Safety within our nurseries

For your confidence and peace of mind every Nuffield Health nursery has well established safety procedures in place. No child is allowed to leave the nursery unless they are collected by a nominated contact person with satisfactory ID. Visitors to the nursery must sign in and out and are accompanied at all times.

Childcare vouchers

If you are a working parent you may be eligible for childcare vouchers, which can mean savings of up to £2,392 per year in National Insurance and Tax. Childcare vouchers are issued through your employer and are usually part of an employee benefit scheme. They are non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance contributions. Contact your employer to find out what entitlement you have in your contract. We accept vouchers from many providers including: Accor, Allsave, Care 4, Sodexo, TEDS, Faircare, Busy Bees, Leapfrog, CCSG and Kids Unlimited.
