Specialist Training & Background
Mr Loughenbury studied medicine at the University of Leeds and completed both his basic and higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the Yorkshire Deanery.
He went on to undertake advanced spinal surgery training, becoming the National Spinal Fellow at Leeds General Infirmary, where he gained experience in complex spinal operations through a combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic fellowship.
His specialist expertise was further strengthened through two prestigious fellowship posts:
- Scottish National Spinal Deformity Service, Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh
- AO Spine Fellowship, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia
These roles provided extensive training in complex spinal deformity, paediatric spine surgery, and the latest international techniques in adult spinal surgery.
