About
Dr Sohaib is a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in heart rhythm issues including atrial fibrillation, SVTs, ectopic beats, and other causes of palpitations. He uses the latest techniques to understand the causes of these conditions and works with his patients to find the best treatment. This might include identifying important lifestyle changes, the right medication, and state of the art treatments and procedures which he performs including ablation procedures, pacemaker implants, and defibrillator implants.
Dr Sohaib qualified from UCL as one of the highest ranking graduates in London. He did his cardiology training at leading heart centres in London including Hammersmith Hospital, Harefield Hospital, and Royal Brompton Hospitals before being appointed a Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and King George Hospital. He has introduced the use of new digital techniques for detecting heart rhythm disorders at his hospitals.
Dr Sohaib has previously served on the boards of the British Cardiovascular Society and the European Society of Cardiology and has led a number of initiatives to improve training for doctors in cardiology.

Dr Sohaib has a PhD from Imperial College which investigated how pacemakers benefit the heart and has published numerous papers in leading scientific journals. His research was funded by a prestigious clinical research training fellowship from the British Heart Foundation. He regularly collaborates with researchers from around the world on leading innovations in the management of heart rhythm disorders. He has published a book on heart rhythm management (“Decoding Cardiac Electrophysiology”). He is on the editorial board of journals including:
"European Heart Journal – Case Reports" and "Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Review" and regularly reviews articles for a number of other leading cardiovascular journals.
