Dr Sanjeev Bhattacharyya is a consultant cardiologist and clinical lead for echocardiography at both University College London Hospital and Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew's Hospital. His main sub-specialty interests are heart failure, general cardiology, valvular heart disease and advanced echocardiography.
He was awarded an MD from University College London for research into acquired heart valve disease and continues to lead research in this area. He has chaired or been a member of several national committees within the British Society of Echocardiography and British Heart Valve Society. In addition, he is part of the guideline writing group for aortic stenosis and prosthetic heart valves of the British Society of Echocardiography.
He is director or co-director of a range of national and internationally recognised courses in echocardiography.

Dr Sanjeev current research interests include native and acquired valvular heart disease, heart failure, carcinoid heart disease, quality assurance in cardiovascular imaging and cardiovascular complications of chemotherapy/radiotherapy.
