Dr Karen Tipples is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Barts Health specialising in the treatment of urological cancers. Karen is the Lead Clinician for the Barts Cancer Centre Urology Multi-Disciplinary Team and the Prostate Cancer Specialist Clinic.
As the Clinical Director for Urology for the Barts Cancer Centre and for Education and Training, she has a particular passion for the training of junior doctors. Elected Trainer of the Year at the Royal College of Radiologists, Karen is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists National Specialty Training Board and Curriculum Committees. She is also the Deputy Clinical Lead nationally for recruitment of junior doctors into oncology training, supervising and developing the recruitment process to ensure the appointment of the best possible candidates to train to be the consultants of the future.
Dr Karen Tipples is a registered cyberknife practitioner and delivers stereotactic radiotherapy (SABR)for prostate cancer in both the curative and palliative (metastatic) setting. She uses state of the art radiotherapy techniques in all aspects of her practice.
