Dr Gautam Kulkarni

Dr Gautam Kulkarni is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician with over 25 years’ expertise in paediatrics and adolescent health. He provides specialist outpatient paediatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children from birth to 18 years of age, with a holistic and child-centred approach to care. He also performs age-appropriate surgical procedures for children aged 3 years and above where clinically indicated. Dr Kulkarni sees patients in a dedicated paediatric clinic in Tunbridge Wells, supporting families across Kent.

Dr Kulkarni specialises in paediatric allergy and child neurology, offering expert diagnosis and management of conditions such as childhood allergies, epilepsy, headaches and neurological disorders. His clinics focus on delivering clear diagnoses and personalised treatment plans, ensuring children receive effective, evidence-based care with minimal stress.

He is the editor of Recent Advances in Paediatrics, a leading medical publication supporting paediatricians and trainees with the latest developments in diagnosis, treatment and clinical practice. Following his medical training at the University of Pune (where he was awarded first prize), Dr Kulkarni undertook research into mother-to-child transmission of HIV, contributing to improved screening, diagnosis and treatment strategies. He later completed specialist paediatric training in London, gaining extensive experience in allergy, epilepsy and neurology in both hospital and clinic settings.

He worked for ten years as an NHS Consultant at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup, where he established specialist paediatric clinics for allergy and epilepsy, providing expert assessment, diagnosis and long-term treatment and management for children with complex conditions.

Dr Kulkarni now practises privately in Tunbridge Wells, continuing his work in paediatric education, teaching and clinical research.
