What we offer
Clinical assessments and diagnosis
Our assessments will undercover where you headaches come from, how they are affecting you in daily life and your family history, so we can find the most effective treatment for you.
Pharmacological treatments
There are a number of medicines that you may be prescribed to treat your symptoms. Your doctor will explain all of your options and assess whether or not these would be the best treatment for you.
Intravenous treatments
You may be offered your treatment intravenously, with your doctor administering your medicine through a needle. These are usually used for people who are experiencing more frequent migraines, so your doctor will advise you if this could work for you.
Injections
Nerve blocks: This is an injection around a nerve known as the occipital nerve situated at the back of the head. It can both help with diagnosis and also to produce pain relief from headaches. The injection contains local anaesthetic often with a small amount of steroid.
Botox: Botox injections can help block the transmission of pain signals which can help to ease the symptoms of your migraines. This treatment is usually only given to people who experience very frequent and chronic migraines.
Surgical treatments
Occipital nerve stimulation: This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which your doctor will insert a small electrical device similar to a pacemaker which connects to small wires which are inserted under your skin close to the base of your head. This will then emit small pulses that will stimulate your nerves to help ease the pain of your migraines.
