How can I help you improve your health?

In my early 20s I was sporty (football, water polo, rugby).  I kept really active by training and playing and I never had to think about or question my fitness. Then as work commitments grew at the same as I started a family I found that my free time was so condensed that I struggled to find time for activity.  This combination resulted in my weight increasing and my general health suffering to a point where my doctor warned me that unless changes were made then I would find myself suffering from issues including high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease as an older man.

This was the motivation I needed to make positive changes. I wanted to learn how best to go about my training so I studied fitness and found out how I could gain maximum impact from the minimal training time I had available.  This led me on to becoming a qualified Personal Trainer as I wanted to share this knowledge.

I can help you improve your health by helping you rediscover the enjoyment in working out! Simply by getting to know the person first and then listening to their particular story I can create routines that engage and challenge. You'll get all the support you need to stay confident and achieve your best.

In particular I love supporting women during pregnancy. The female body undergoes some incredible changes during pre- and post-pregnancy and the correct safe exercise choices have some huge benefits.

I am Sheriff, Since my professional football career ended, I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science from Edinburgh's Napier University. I have extensive experience of physical training and an in-depth understanding of the requirements of team work, how to assess and help clients achieve their health and fitness goals.

As an experienced Personal Trainer with scientific knowledge in sports and exercise biomechanics, assessment and conditioning for performance for beginner and elite athletes, I am committed to applying my expertise to improve your fitness level, health and wellbeing.

A former chef with a love of food, I believe diet shouldn’t be a chore for the short-term, it’s a lifestyle change that you should be happy to maintain forever. I don’t talk about ‘A Diet’, I talk about ‘your diet’.

As well as a Personal trainer, I am also fully qualified Sports Massage therapist, which allows me to look at the body’s systems and functioning in a slightly different way. During my career as a Personal trainer I have managed to help my clients to achieve their best results (to recover after injuries, to improve sports specific results and to reduce weight) which also gave me more confidence and knowledge in my field of fitness and wellbeing.

My training styles changes with the personality of the individual. Training programs includes: high intensity circuits, powerlifting, rehabilitation and mobility training, as well as weight loss and toning. My aim is to show to everyone that there are many ways to achieve their best results without sacrificing favorite hobbies.

How can I help you improve your health?

My background is in Sport and Exercise Science with a range of experiences in a variety of sport and fitness goals. I ensure all my sessions are fun and varied but entirely focused on hitting any targets you have!

I have trained (and ran the Dublin Marathon with!) a marathon runner to take 17 minutes off her marathon time and qualify for the London Marathon! I have trained a triathlete to overcome a serious ankle injury and get back to her personal best times and I have trained many brides to be ready for their big day!

So if you are looking to drop a jeans size, improve your running performance or work hard towards any other personal goals, give me a shout and we will get you on your way!
