Tom was born and bred locally and runs a successful private practice based in the three counties. This has steadily gained momentum based on excellent patient feedback and word of mouth recommendation. For Nuffield patient feedback, reviews, patient information packs and patient photos please visit his website.
Tom can consult on and perform the full spectrum of cosmetic and breast procedures for women and men as well as surgery for skin cancer, hand surgery and limb reconstruction. His particular interests include: breast augmentation (boob job/breast enlargement/breast implants), breast lift (mastopexy), breast reduction, liposuction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), facelift, pinnaplasty (ear pinning), labiaplasty, thigh lift, arm lift, scar revision, eyebag removal (blepharoplasty), and skin lesion removal (moles, cysts, lipomas).
Tom believes in a reliable and personal service, a non-judgmental and friendly, informal approach that listens to patients concerns and puts them at ease. He has the experience to tailor surgery to their specific needs. Tom understands the importance of feeling comfortable and confident in your surgeon. He is happy to see patients for a complimentary 10-15 minute consultation and is unafraid to recommend patients to other surgeons for second opinions.
Tom understands the physical, mental and financial strains that surgery can entail. He aims to offer the highest quality, personally delivered care at competitive prices. Unlike some surgeons, he does not rely on nurses or assistants to care for perform surgery or check wounds and dressings. With local NHS admitting rights and contacts, he is able to provide a comprehensive and safe care for his patients.
Tom says; “I enjoy looking after patients as much as the surgery itself. To see the delight in their faces when the dressings are first removed and again in clinic with the smiles on their faces”
Tom attended Bristol University medical school attaining a first class honours degree in preclinical science supported by a scholarship from the smith and nephew foundation. He graduated in medicine with honours in 1998 and followed the traditional route of training, completing 5 years of general surgery and the MRCS in 2003, followed by another 6 years of specialist plastic surgery training and the FRCS (Plast) in 2009. He then completed extra training in the form of fellowships in cosmetic and minimal scarring techniques in Trieste (Italy), Nottingham and London over a two year period supported by a travelling award from BAPRAS and a scholarship from the royal college of surgeons.
He is on the specialist register for plastic surgery and has been a full time substantive NHS consultant since 2011 based in Southmead Hospital, Bristol. He is a member of the governing body of Bristol University and is responsible for the teaching and selection of plastic surgery trainees in the southwest uk.
