About

Mr Khan first studied law at Cambridge University, where he graduated with honours. He later decided to pursue a career in medicine and completed his medical degree at Oxford University, again with honours.

After working as a junior doctor, he returned to Cambridge to prepare for his surgical exams and also taught anatomy to medical students.

He went on to train in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, completing both his early and advanced surgical training on the respected Bristol programme. During this time, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and later passed the specialist Orthopaedic Fellowship exam (FRCS Tr & Orth).

Mr Khan then spent three years focusing on spinal surgery. He worked as a Spinal Fellow in specialist centres in Birmingham and Cardiff, and later in leading spinal units in the United States, including world‑renowned centres for spinal deformity surgery in San Diego and Miami.

He joined the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital as a full‑time Spinal Consultant in 2007. Although fully trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics, he now works exclusively as a Spinal Surgeon.
