Mr Rajak is an ophthalmic and eyelid plastic surgeon. He practises at Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital and is an NHS consultant at the Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton and Sussex University Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Mr Rajak performs around 400 eyelid plastic surgery procedures, such as upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, tumour excision surgery, eyelid malposition (drooping, in-turning and out-turning eyelid) as well as tear duct surgery and orbital (eye socket) surgery and around 200 cataract surgeries per year. He is internationally renowned for his surgical training website. He also consults in general ophthalmology including glaucoma and emergency eye conditions.
Mr Rajak qualified from Nottingham University in 2000. He trained in ophthalmology in the South East including in Moorfields Eye Hospital St Thomas’ Hospital and The Sussex Eye Hospital. He then completed advanced fellowships in oculoplastic (eyelid), orbital (eye socket) and lacrimal (tear drainage) surgery in The Sussex Eye Hospital and the world-renowned fellowship at Adelaide University Hospital.
Mr Rajak researched the management of trachoma in Ethiopia for three years and was awarded his PhD for this work and continues to research, write about and present at national and international conferences on oculoplastic surgery.
Mr Rajak consults in general ophthalmology including cataract surgery, glaucoma and emergency eye care and has a sub-speciality interest in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery, including blepharoplasty, eyelid tumour surgery, thyroid eye disease management and endoscopic lacrimal surgery.

Mr Rajak is very active in ophthalmic research with over 60 peer reviewed publications. He researched the management of trachoma in Ethiopia for three years and was awarded his PhD for this work and continues to have ongoing research there. Mr Rajak leads a research team in Adelaide, Australia investigating the genetics of sebaceous gland carcinoma and is collaborating on studies on tear drainage with colleagues in Kyoto, Japan. Mr Rajak has written a comprehensive text book on Developing World Eye Disease (Eye Diseases in Hot Climates) and three text book chapters and developed and runs a major oculoplastic surgery teaching website.
