About

Mr Slater is currently a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust. He is experienced in carrying out a wide range of spinal procedures.


Mr Slater was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1957. He attended the Haberdashers’ Aske’s School in Hertfordshire, where he won a open scholarship to Cambridge University to study Medical Sciences.  Mr Slater graduated with a 2:1 with first class passes in Physiology and Social Anthropology. After graduation, he continued his studies at Guy’s Hospital Medical School and completed training at Guy’s/St Thomas’/King’s college hospitals.

Following this training in 1994 he took his current post at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust and is also a member of the SE Thames Trauma and Orthopaedic Training Committee.
