Patient Testimonial: Hip Replacement Surgery (March & December 2020)

“I was in severe pain, unable to walk unaided and had not left the house for months! After attending physio I was finally sent for an MRI scan in October 2019. Then, in January 2020 I saw Mr Cooke at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, which is when my miserable life changed.  He gave me hope and said things could be done!  I had my first hip replacement operation just a few months later in March, and the care I received was excellent. Every member of staff was kind, friendly and very attentive. Because of COVID-19 the after-care was done remotely but excellent non-the-less and I felt well cared for.

In December 2020, I had my other hip operated on which also went really well, completely pain free from coming out of theatre.  All staff again were excellent during a very hard time working around the COVID-19 restrictions. 

I am now mobile, walking daily and looking forward to Spring to get back into the garden. I cannot thank Mr Cooke and all his staff at Nuffield Tees Hospital in Stockton for giving me my life back.”
