About
Mr Fehervari is a consultant surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, and general surgery. He provides individualised, minimally invasive care for conditions such as acid reflux, gallstones, hernias, and obesity. Patients value his clear communication, calm manner, and commitment to delivering high-quality care.
His clinical practice includes hernia and gallbladder surgery, anti-reflux procedures, diagnostic endoscopy, and selected weight-loss operations. He has particular expertise in minimally invasive techniques, such keyhole and endoscopic interventions which support quicker recovery and reduced discomfort.
Mr Fehervari holds a full-time consultant position at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He completed his surgical training in London through the North West London academic programme, in partnership with Imperial College London. He went on to complete a fellowship in anti-reflux and bariatric surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons, alongside international travel fellowships at the Mayo Clinic (USA) and the University of Strasbourg (France).
He holds a PhD in Clinical Surgery and two Master’s degrees and is actively involved in research and teaching. He is the Year 5 Surgical Module Lead at Kent and Medway Medical School, teaches surgical skills at the London Postgraduate School of Surgery and Imperial College, and is a nationally accredited JAG endoscopy trainer.
Outside medicine, Matyas enjoys running, cycling, fishing, and time with his young family.
