About
Mr Mark Brown has recently retired from NHS spinal surgery; where he was a busy NHS spinal surgeon from 1997 to 2020. He still has a part time post in the NHS. Here at Nuffield Health he continues to see outpatients for consultations on spinal problems, and to do day case injections. he works closely with colleagues who can take on his patients if they need private spinal surgery.
His opinion is often valued, even if he is not in a position to offer surgery.
Other interests
Whilst Mr Brown is a spine specialist, he recognises that quite often it can be difficult to tell whether a pain is from the back or the hip; of from the neck or the shoulder, and is happy to see patients to try to sort this out and to re-refer to a colleague if need be.
Mr Brown personally offers nerve root injections for leg and buttock pain and facet joint injections for back pain. Mr Brown works closely with other specialists and can arrange various types of scans and electrical tests to investigate neck and back problems, as well as injections done by radiologists for neck and arm pain.
